Central Behavioral Health has created a multifaceted Peer Support Team (PST) which provides recovery oriented services for adults 18 years and older with serious mental health or Co-occurring challenges. Currently, we have a full time Career Center CPS position available on the team for an energetic person with lived experience to provide support and assistance to individuals pursuing educational or vocational goals.

This is a Full-time, salaried position with benefits.  Hours 8:30-4:30 M-F

Brief Description of Duties:

  • Model partnership in Recovery with all Central consumers, staff and all persons with whom contact is made, as a Central employee.
  • Model the understanding that the Peer Specialist is an equal member of the “team” that partners with program participants, staff and others in the process of recovery. 
  • Engage individuals to help them understand and access the supports available to them as part of a community based program. 
  • Help individuals identify their goals, and steps to meet their goals while imparting hope through the sharing of your personal recovery experience.
  • Responsible for completing required documentation.
  • Assist individuals with career/educational search and develop strategies to maintain health and wellness.


 Requirements:

  • High School diploma/GED – Associates or Bachelors preferred
  • Current State Board Certified Peer Specialist certification is required. 
  • Driver’s license with clean record is required.
  • Strong computer skills
  • Participate in required career center training

Behavioral Health: Supervisor: Norristown Children’s Blended Case Managers

Supervisor:  Norristown Children’s Blended Case Managers

Staff Requirements: 

  • A Master’s degree in social work, psychology, rehabilitation, activity therapies, counseling or education and 3 years mental health direct care experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record

Job Duties:

  • Supervise Children’s Blended Case Management Staff
  • Responsible for staff compliance with State, County, and agency policies and regulations
  • Determine eligibility of referrals made for Child Blended Case Managers
  • Meet performance metric needs identified by Montgomery County Behavioral Health department
  • Work closely with the Director of the Case Management/Recovery Coach department

Job Activities will include the following:

  • Monitoring staff charts, notes, and production
  • Complete regular performance evaluations of staff
  • Provide regular supervision to all staff
  • Facilitate regular staff meetings
  • Attend weekly department supervisor meetings
  • Attend required trainings
  • Crisis intervention skills
  • Willingness to be flexible with work hours
  • Ability to communicate well with consumers, families, agency staff and referral sources
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Montgomery County Behavioral Health staff, Magellan Behavioral Health staff, agency personnel and various outside organizations and school districts.

A Recovery Coach will have one of the following:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with major course work in sociology, social work, psychology, criminal justice, counseling.

  • A high school diploma and 12 semester credit hours in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, counseling or other social sciences plus 2 years in direct contact with mental health consumers.

Position Overview: Provides flexible, community-based services that are designed to promote the empowerment, recovery, and community integration of adults who have serious mental health challenges by partnering with them to direct their own recovery and advocacy process, by coaching and supporting the acquisition and utilization of skills needed to facilitate the individual’s recovery, and in linking to available services and resources, including informal supports. The recovery coach will assure that services are individualized, strengths and needs based, culturally sensitive and responsive, and goal driven.

Job Duties:

  • Partnering with identified consumers to assist, encourage, and support their recovery through ongoing assessments, including recovery and prevention plans, strengths-assessments and other recovery tools
  • Collaborating with treatment team, including therapists, program coordinators, psychiatrists, wellness recovery team, peer support, and other stakeholders providing the best possible team approach to recovery
  • Linking to community and other resources and to support individuals in identifying and accessing formal and informal resources independently
  • Assisting consumers in obtaining and maintaining housing
  • Maintaining production rates to meet the program’s expectations
  • Completing documentation and other paperwork in a timely and professional manner as well as to comply with Central’s standards and state licensing requirements
  • Promoting the recovery philosophy in our daily activities

Behavioral Health: Family Based Services, Program Coordinator

Full time position plus on-call, Monday thru Friday 9-5.   

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s degree required plus at least 2 years of experience working in a community-based mental health program (FBS, MST, BHRS) with children and their families
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Valid PA driver’s license required
  • Attendance at, or graduation from, the Family Based Training program through the Philadelphia Child and Family Therapy Training Center preferred

Job Duties include:

Administratively and clinically supervise a staff of 6-10 FBS staff members.  Complete in-home psychosocial evaluations.  Complete paperwork to obtain authorizations for insurance. 

Attend County-wide meetings.  Attend regular trainings at the Philadelphia Child and Family Training Center.  Manage FSF funds to be distributed to families in need.  Train new employees in the department on the FBS model.

Central Behavioral Health is the oldest, not-for-profit, multi-service, community mental health center in Montgomery County.  We are seeking a clinician to work in the Intensive Outpatient Program, Co-Occurring track.  This IOP therapist position also provides outpatient therapy as part of the Aftercare team.  A Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field is required.  Experience in group therapy; working in a team approach with individuals experiencing serious mental health challenges, including co-occurring and trauma-related symptoms.

This position is a full time, salaried position.
