We are looking for a Certified Peer Specialist to join our growing multifaceted Peer Support Team (PST). As a member of our team you would provide recovery oriented services for adults 18 years and older with serious mental health and/or co-occurring challenges. We are looking for an energetic person to join our team with lived experience. As a member of our PST you will provide support and assistance to individuals pursuing educational or vocational goals.

This is a Full-time, salaried position with great benefits.  Hours 8:30-4:30 M-F

Brief Description of Duties:

  • Model partnership in Recovery with all Central consumers, staff and all persons with whom contact is made, as a Central employee.
  • Model the understanding that the Peer Specialist is an equal member of the “team” that partners with program participants, staff and others in the process of recovery. 
  • Engage individuals to help them understand and access the supports available to them as part of a community based program. 
  • Help individuals identify their goals, and steps to meet their goals while imparting hope through the sharing of your personal recovery experience.
  • Responsible for completing required documentation.
  • Assist individuals with career/educational search and develop strategies to maintain health and wellness.


 Requirements:

  • High School diploma/GED – Associates or Bachelors preferred
  • Must hold Current State Board Certified Peer Specialist certification 
  • Driver’s license with clean record is required.
  • Strong computer skills
  • Participate in required career center training

Behavioral Health: Licensed Registered Nurse

Central is seeking a Licensed Registered Nurse to work in our Outpatient Department for 3-4 hours; one day a week.

Duties include:

  • Administer injections

Position Qualifications:

A Recovery Coach will have one of the following:

  1. A Bachelor’s degree with major course work in sociology, social work, psychology, criminal justice, counseling.
  2. Be a registered nurse
  3. A high school diploma and 12 semester credit hours in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, counseling or other social sciences plus 2 years in direct contact with mental health consumers.

Position Overview: Provides flexible, community-based services that are designed to promote the empowerment, recovery, and community integration of adults who have serious mental health challenges by partnering with them to direct their own recovery and advocacy process, by coaching and supporting the acquisition and utilization of skills needed to facilitate the individual’s recovery, and in linking to available services and resources, including informal supports. The recovery coach will assure that services are individualized, strengths and needs based, culturally sensitive and responsive, and goal driven.

Job Duties:

  1. Partnering with identified consumers to assist, encourage, and support their recovery through ongoing assessments, including recovery and prevention plans, strengths assessments and other recovery tools
  2. Collaborating with treatment team, including therapists, program coordinators, psychiatrists, wellness recovery team, peer support, and other stakeholders providing the best possible team approach to recovery
  3. Linking to community and other resources and to support individuals in identifying and accessing formal and informal resources independently
  4. Assisting consumers in obtaining and maintaining housing
  5. Maintaining production rates to meet the program’s expectations
  6. Completing documentation and other paperwork in a timely and professional manner as well as to comply with Central’s standards and state licensing requirements
  7. Promoting the recovery philosophy in our daily activities
  8. Follow CDC guidelines and agency protocols for COVID-19 in our daily work

  • Provide on-site and community-based support for new consumers awaiting assignment to agency programs including recovery coaching, and follow up for consumers discharged from these services.
  • Advocate for consumers and collaborate with other community agencies, such as DPA, social security, Mental Health Association of SE PA., other MH/MR agencies etc. in meeting the needs of the consumers.
  • Serve as the agency’s primary liaison and follow-up coordinator throughout the behavioral health commitment process
  • Assist psychiatrists, therapists, and recovery coaches in arranging for hospitalizations.
  • Assist psychiatrists in completing care plans as needed.
  • Complete ASAM assessments when needed
  • Complete Crisis Prevention and other trainings as assigned by supervisor.

Fee for Service contract positions.   Day and evening hours available.

Description of Duties:

The role expectations of a Behavior Specialist are as follows:

  • Ongoing design and supervision of implementation of behavior management/treatment plan for children receiving BHRS services.
  • Attendance at Clinical Planning meetings and any other mandatory meetings, observation of clinical behavior to be targeted for treatment, consultant as required.
  • Meets with Therapeutic Staff Support on weekly basis to provide clinical supervision.  This involves reviewing progress notes, treatment plan and providing feedback and suggestions on effective treatment interventions.
  • Behavioral Specialist Consultant, as lead clinician, is responsible for coordinating and facilitating inter-agency team meetings, completing the treatment plan, discussing progress of treatment with the evaluator prior to the evaluation.
  • Behavioral Specialist Consultant, as lead clinician, is responsible for referring the client to other services, Case Management, Outpatient Therapy. Etc.
  • If Behavioral Specialist Consultant is leaving the case that he or she is assigned to, BSC must give Central and family minimum of 2 weeks’ notice.
  • Progress notes/Documentation placed in chart on weekly basis.
  • Encounter Forms will be handed in on a weekly basis.
  • Responsible to check in on weekly basis with BHRS Coordinator to give case updates, discuss any high-risk clients.
  • Provides behavior modification techniques to Therapeutic Staff Support/Mobile Therapist to use with clients.
  • Behavioral Specialist Consultant should only provide services to client if adult/parent is present in home.  BSC should teach parents, caregivers, and school staff new skills to use in order to effectively handle client’s behavior.

The role expectations of a Mobile Therapist are as follows:

  • Assess strengths and needs of child and family.
  • Include child as participant of treatment.
  • Include child and family in treatment plan process.
  • Provide individual and/or family therapy, utilizing the strengths-based approach in home or other community setting.
  • Consult and collaborate with other professionals involved with case.
  • Collaborate with child, family, and other professionals to develop daily routines during times of crises and transition.
  • Work with Therapeutic Support Staff and/or Behavior Specialist.
  • Complete all documentation required.
  • Attend any pertinent meetings as required. 
  • Attends all treatment team meetings for clients.
  • If leaving a case, Mobile Therapist is expected to give Central, BHRS Coordinator at least 2 weeks’ notice.

  • If lead clinician on case, Mobile Therapist is responsible to check in on weekly basis with BHRS Coordinator to discuss any high-risk clients.
  • Meets with client for authorized number of hours per week.

Requirements:

Master’s degree and experience with children and/or adolescents required.  Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.  Willingness to travel to locations within Montgomery County.

Candidate must have a basic knowledge of computer and of Microsoft Word.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree preferred with at least 2 years behavioral health experience.

Individual needs to be organized, flexible and able to handle crisis situations and make sound decisions and work well as part of a team in the Outpatient Department of a community mental health center.

Duties include:

Management of emergencies and walk ins.

Triaging clinical emergencies and concerns with therapists

Monitoring of open access times.

Working with the assessment team in case assignment and triage.

Answering calls from consumers about medication requests and concerns.

Answering and managing crisis calls.

Assisting in hospitalizations and crises.

Open and close cases in the computer system.

Following up with consumers who have not been in for treatment.

Ensure completion of treatment plans and safety plans

Complete closings for consumers who have discontinued treatment.

Assist doctors with forms, letters, etc.

Manage and maintain schedules of psychiatrists

Assist department doctors with medication requests.

Able to assist with virtual technology such as SKYPE, ZOOM
