Position Qualifications:

A Recovery Coach will have one of the following:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with major course work in sociology, social work, psychology, criminal justice, counseling.
  • Be a registered nurse
  • A high school diploma and 12 semester credit hours in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, counseling or other social sciences plus 2 years in direct contact with mental health consumers.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Position Overview: Provides flexible, community-based services that are designed to promote the empowerment, recovery, and community integration of adults who have serious mental health challenges by partnering with them to direct their own recovery and advocacy process, by coaching and supporting the acquisition and utilization of skills needed to facilitate the individual’s recovery, and in linking to available services and resources, including informal supports. The recovery coach will assure that services are individualized, strengths and needs based, culturally sensitive and responsive, and goal driven.

Job Duties:

  • Partnering with identified consumers to assist, encourage, and support their recovery through ongoing assessments, including recovery and prevention plans, strengths-assessments and other recovery tools
  • Collaborating with treatment team, including therapists, program coordinators, psychiatrists, wellness recovery team, peer support, and other stakeholders providing the best possible team approach to recovery
  • Linking to community and other resources and to support individuals in identifying and accessing formal and informal resources independently
  • Assisting consumers in obtaining and maintaining housing
  • Maintaining production rates to meet the program’s expectations
  • Completing documentation and other paperwork in a timely and professional manner as well as to comply with Central’s standards and state licensing requirements
  • Promoting the recovery philosophy in our daily activities

Job Description

This position is entry level.  Salaried position, benefits included.

Help child to avoid/eliminate inappropriate, threatening, or dangerous behaviors by following their current treatment plan.

Assist caregivers/parents in providing immediate rewards or consequences for behavior.

Assist the parent in providing therapeutic structure and limits to the child.

Provide emotional support to the child.

Assist the child to develop and participate in constructive activities.

Record data and chart progress.

Evening/weekend hours may be necessary to work with children and families across settings. 

Requirements

  • Applicants must have a B.A. or B.S. in Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Education, or other
  • Human Service field. No experience is required
    OR
  • B.A. or B.S. in any major plus one year’s paid experience working with children/teens
    OR
  • At least 60 credit plus 3 year’s paid experience working with children/teens
  • Willingness to travel to locations within Montgomery County.
  • Basic knowledge of computer and of Microsoft Word.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

If challenges are experienced along the way, wellness tools will be developed so consumers can feel empowered to conquer any challenge. As part of our Career Center Team this position will support our consumers along their career and recovery journey every step of the way.

Hours 8:00-4:00 M-F

Brief Description of Duties:

  • Engage consumers to help them understand and access possible available supports
  • Assist consumers in identifying their current needs, goals, while imparting hope through the sharing of your personal recovery experience
  • Develop and foster collaborative relationships with local employment to increase opportunities for consumers
  • Partner with consumers in achieving self-advocacy
  • Develop WRAP/Crisis Plans with consumers upon request
  • Keep appropriate records and documentation of engagement and provide reports regularly
  • Engage individuals to help them understand and access the possible supports which are available to them as part of a community based program.

Requirements:

High School diploma/GED is required.

Current certification in Peer Specialist Services needed.

Associates, Bachelors, or Masters a plus.

Previous or Current participation in the MH system as a recipient of service.

Driver’s license with acceptable driving history is required.

Description:

Central Behavioral Health is hiring a TIP Facilitator to work with Montgomery County, PA Transitional Aged Youth (TAY) 16 – 26 living with a mental illness.  The TIP Facilitator is responsible for following the evidence supported TIP Model and Pennsylvania Blended Case Management Regulations.  The TIP Facilitator provides a great deal of flexibility and works to engage the young person through relationship development, person-centered planning, and a focus on their future.  The TIP Facilitator teaches skills to help youth become more self-sufficient, connect youth to their community, build a safety net of support, advocate for youth voice and choice, and improve positive outcomes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Engage and meet with each TAY on caseload (15 maximum) weekly.
  • Complete forms, assessments, and case notes related to the program on time.
  • Achieve billable hour’s requirements.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize schedule.
  • Participate in 24/7 emergency on call rotation.
  • Available to work evening hours and weekends.
  • Collaborate with multi-systems and family supports.
  • Facilitate community and social events.
  • Provide mediation and crisis support as needed.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, criminal justice, and/or other related fields
  • Valid driver’s license with a good record

Description

Clinical staff to provide family and individual therapy to children and families in their homes.  Also will provide intensive case management services. The children, who have a variety of behavioral and emotional issues, range in age from 3 to 21 years.  3 years of training included with position. Requirements Master’s degree, driver’s license and clinical experience with children and families is required. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
