🧠 About the Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) Role
The Certified Peer Specialist is part of the Peer Support Team, which offers recovery-focused services for adults (18 years and older) dealing with serious mental health or co-occurring challenges.

- Help individuals identify their current needs and steps to meet their goals while imparting hope through the sharing of the personal recovery experience.
- Collaboratively document individual progress in the Electronic Health Record.
- Support individuals in community engagement and socialization activities.
- Model and promote skills required for education, employment, community integration, and independent living.
🎓 Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED
- Successful completion of the Pennsylvania Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) training program approved by the Pennsylvania Certification Board (PCB)
Licenses and Certifications
- Current certification as a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) through the Pennsylvania Certification Board (PCB) is required.
Experience & Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with a nonjudgmental, client-centered approach
- Comfortable with digital tools and basic technology use (tablets, phones, computers)
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Other Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License and a good driving record.
- Subject to the requirements of the Child Protective Services Law.
