Group Therapy and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a group therapy program for individuals with a mental health diagnosis and/or substance use disorder who need a more intensive level of care. Our primary goal with IOP therapy is to empower clients to support their recovery, cope more effectively, avoid relapse or hospitalization, and strengthen their social relationships.
We tailor IOP to meet the unique needs of each individual, especially those with co-occurring challenges (such as a combination of behavioral health issues and substance use/abuse history). The program is split into tracks: one for adults with mental health concerns, another that focuses on life skills enhancement and one specifically designed for people with co-occurring disorders. A collaborative strength-based treatment plan is created with each individual. Clients can choose to attend one group each week or participate in the full IOP by attending 3 groups or more per week.
Each group therapy topic was developed to help individuals move closer toward their identified goals. Our IOP therapy covers a wide range of topics, with groups that focus on:

- Grief and loss
- Emotional regulation
- Personal issues
- Understanding mental health
- Relapse prevention
- Women’s empowerment
- Stress management
- DBT skills
- Self-care
IOP Therapy Eligibility
IOP group therapy is offered to individuals age 18 or older living in eastern or central Montgomery County.

Referrals
• IOP group therapy is offered to individuals age 18 or older living in eastern or central Montgomery County.
• Participants would benefit from more intensive programming than traditional outpatient therapy.
• Participant has insurance through Magellan Health Choices or must complete the county funding determination paperwork.
