Providing Behavioral Health Services throughout Montgomery County

OASIS Program

OASIS is a partial hospital program for older adults living with behavioral health and co-occurring challenges.

OASIS is designed to help older adults:

  • Improve their emotional, behavioral and physical health
  • Develop and restore resiliency
  • Achieve personal fulfillment
  • Avoid premature institutionalization by living as independently as possible within the community
  • Reduce symptoms and behaviors that are troublesome and distressing to them and their caregivers
  • Have a greater sense of independence, self-reliance and well-being
  • Create an ongoing network of community support

How it works

Each OASIS program participant is assigned a therapist, who develops an individualized treatment plan. Our program psychiatrist oversees the treatment plan, develops appropriate medication interventions as needed and stays in touch with the person’s therapist and medical providers.

Therapeutic groups and individual sessions designed to increase social interaction and improve participants’ sense of self-worth and competence are offered on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30 am – 2:30 pm, covering such topics as:

  • Personal recovery issues
  • Grief and loss
  • Improving depression and anxiety
  • Maintaining sobriety and stability
  • Exercise for the mind
  • Reminiscing
  • Physical wellness
  • Wellness through art
  • Social skills
  • Wellness through music
