🌟 About Central Behavioral Health
Central Behavioral Health is a nonprofit organization that has been serving the Montgomery County community for over 75 years. We provide outpatient and community-based behavioral health services for individuals of all ages. Our mission is to empower people to overcome behavioral health challenges and lead fulfilling, healthy lives.
🧠 About the Registered Dietitian Role
The Registered Dietitian (RD) will work in the Food as Medicine (FAM) Program providing nutritional assessments, trainings, and group demonstrations around healthy eating. The dietician works with adults with SMI around issues of nutrition, food intake, and resource development. The RD works closely with a Registered Nurse, and Farm Educators from the PA Horticultural Society.
FAM is a partnership between Central and the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS).The program leverages this partnership to promote a Food as Medicine model and provide staff and clients at Central with nutritional education and resources to address and reduce health disparities. Through this program, individuals served at Central are able to access healthy food and gardening opportunities and learn nutritional and culinary skills.
