Certified Peer Specialist

Job Overview:

The Certified Peer Specialist works as part of the Peer Support Team, which provides recovery-oriented services for adults (18 years and older) with serious mental health or co-occurring challenges.

Schedule:

This is a Monday through Friday 37.5 hour per week position. Part-time opportunities available.

Responsibilities:

  • Help individuals identify their current needs, and steps to meet their goals while imparting hope through the sharing of the personal recovery experience.
  • Collaboratively document individual progress in the Electronic Health Record.
  • Support individuals in community engagement and socialization activities.
  • Model and promote skills required for education, employment, community integration, and independent living.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. High School Diploma or GED

2. CPS certification through the PCB

3. Valid Driver’s License and good driving record

Clearances

In accordance with state regulations, all prospective new employees/contractors must provide originals for photocopy of their Federal Criminal History Record (DHS FBI Background Check), PA Criminal Background Check, and PA Child Abuse Clearance before commencing the offered position

** Current Central employees will not have to provide current clearances as the clearances that are on file are renewable every 5 years.
