Family Based Therapist

A Family Based Therapist works as part of a two-person team to provide in-home therapy and support services for children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral problems. The team works with both the child and their family to help cultivate a stable environment at home, increase the caregivers’ effectiveness, and stabilize the child’s emotional and behavioral health.  

This position is 37.5 hours/week. Flexible scheduling available to meet the needs of the families.

Job Duties:

  • Work in two-person clinical teams to deliver quality family therapy and resource coordination
  • Use creative ways to engage young people and their family members to address complex family-systems issues
  • Maintain a caseload of 6-8 children and their family members
  • Attend career development certification trainings
  • Attend weekly supervision with opportunities for licensure supervision hours
  • Meet with clients and their families three times a week to provide individual and family therapy with sibling and couples/parent treatment provided as needed
  • Make referrals for appropriate supportive services.
  • Maintain client files including timely completion of case notes and treatment plans to ensure that the licensing and standards are upheld at all times.

Position Qualifications:

  1. Master’s Degree in counseling, family therapy, social work, psychology, or related field
  2. A minimum of 2 years of experience working with children in a therapeutic setting (relevant internship experience may be considered)
  3. Valid Driver’s License and good driving record

Clearances:

In accordance with state regulations, all prospective new employees/contractors must make available for photocopy the original of their Federal Criminal History Record (DHS FBI Background Check), PA Criminal Background Check and PA Child Abuse Clearance prior to a job offer being extended.
